Aion 2’s Chanter is a really interesting class. It’s a blend of melee and caster that’s also a buffer and spot healer. It feels to me kind of like a Discipline/Shadow Priest in WoW Classic, blended with a Shaman. It’s a really fascinating class, and if I hadn’t found Spiritmaster first, Chanter might have been my main class. If I plan on doing lots of party content, this will be what I go with.

If you want to be able to do decent damage solo, but shine in group content by enabling all of your allies to perform better, I highly recommend playing a Chanter in Aion 2. It’s a very easy-to-learn, hard-to-master experience, but it’s worth it.

Chanter’s party role in Aion 2

In a party, the Chanter is a character in Aion 2 that can provide some of the best buffs in the game, while also assisting the Cleric in healing. You provide damage absorption shields to your allies so they can continue fighting, and buff them so that their dps and survivability are overall better.

It’s a brilliant class, and while it might take some effort to figure out, it’s a great experience and feels good to really get good at it. Between your Mantras, Recuperation, and Dark Crush, you can do a lot whether alone or in a group. While you can heal as a Chanter, we’ve focused on DPS for the time being.

Skill Point and Stigma guide for Aion 2’s Chanter

Below we’re going over all of the most important skills for your Chanter in Aion 2. We’ll make sure you know the proper Specialties for each skill as necessary, as well as all of your passives and Stigma skills.

It really doesn’t matter what you do with your skills as you level up, whether you’re playing a Chanter, Templar, or a Spiritmaster. However, when you reach the level cap and have all your points, it’s time to get serious about your build.

Note: Skills with an asterisk next to them gain extra ranks from the Daevanion Board or from Arcana.

Skills and Specialties

  • *Onslaught (10+2): +20% MP restored, -1s Spinning Strike cooldown on hit.
  • Incandescent Blow (10): -20% MP consumed.
  • *Dark Crush (10+4): Critical Hit on hit, Adds Piercing Strike Chain Skill. Getting this to rank 16 is incredibly high priority, so you can remove the cooldown.
  • *Rushing Smash (10+2): Changes to Charge Skill, Resets cooldown on defeating an enemy. Eventually you’ll change it from a Charge Skill to 50% chance to trigger Heat Wave Blow, when you’re strong enough.
  • *Spinning Strike (10): -5s cooldown. You want to get it to 12 with the Daevanion Board eventually for the up to 20% damage bonus Speciality.
  • *Recuperation (10+2): +1 consecutive use and Heal over Time can stack up to 2 times, +5% HP restored.
  • Impactful Crush (8): Changes to AOE Damage.
  • Gust Rampage (8): Absorbs 5% HP.
  • Tremor Crush (8): +10m range.
  • Wave Blow (8): Multi-Hit on hit.
  • Heat Wave Blow (8): Up to 20% more damage when more targets are hit.
  • Defiance (8): Restores 10% HP when you use Defiance.

You need quite a few skill points devoted to your Passives as a Chanter in Aion 2; that’s for sure. These are going to boost your damage, and many will likely require you to seek them out in the Daevanion Board.

Thankfully, they shouldn’t be too far out of reach of your main lines. Out of all of your passives, Attack Preparation is the most important, due to the sheer amount of Damage Boost, Defense, and Accuracy it gives you.

Passive Skill ranks

  • Attack Preparation: 10+3 ranks.
  • Wind’s Promise: 10+3 ranks.
  • Earth’s Promise: 10+1 ranks.
  • Raging Spell: 10 ranks.
  • Inspiring Spell: 10+1 ranks.
  • Blessing of Life: 10+1 ranks.
  • Protection Circle: 8+2 ranks.

We’re treating the Chanter primarily as a damage dealer in this Aion 2 guide, but that’s not the only way to play. You can pick up the Healing Touch, Impeding Authority, and/or Barrier Spell Stigmas if your party wants you to use them, or if you plan on being a backup healer.

Stigma selections

  • Undefeated Mantra: 10 ranks.
  • Sprint Mantra: 5 ranks.
  • Ensnaring Mark: 1 rank.
  • Marchutan’s Wrath: 3 ranks.

Combat Macro and rotation guide for Aion 2’s Chanter

Dark Crush is easily one of our best skills, so as a Chanter in Aion 2, we’re going to want to enable ourselves to use it as frequently as possible. This skill becomes available anytime you’ve used a ranged skill. So abilities like Impactful Crush, Spinning Strike, Marchutan’s Wrath or Ensnaring Mark can trigger it.

Before you go to set up a Macro, I cannot stress enough that you need to go into your settings and bind the Macro Button to a key. This is in your Key Settings, so make sure you go out of your way to do this.

We also very much recommend the Aion 1 combat (Tab Targeting) mode over Aion 2’s. This is because Tab Targeting will auto-spam your auto-attack, allowing you to constantly regenerate mana while also dealing damage. This makes things much easier as a Chanter. Tab Target mode also allows you to move around and rotate without losing your target.

One thing that’s really neat about setting up Macros in Aion 2 is it will call up specific lines you’ve set up on your board. So, below you’ll see I’ve made a Dark Crush line. Then, when the Macro uses Dark Crush, it will follow up with whatever abilities are behind it (in this case, Spinning Strike). It’s a great system, and it just takes a little work to really get into.

Rushing Smash line

  • Rushing Smash
  • Heat Wave Blow

Attack line

  • Impactful Crush
  • Marchutan’s Wrath
  • Ensnaring Mark

Dark Crush line

  • Dark Crush
  • Spinning Strike

The idea is that you can use your Attack line, which triggers Dark Crush as a castable ability. You then pop the macro, which goes through a lengthy series of attacks, and then you can use the Attack line again to keep the damage flowing.

Macro

  • Dark Crush
  • Onslaught (with high attack speed, this can be removed in Aion 2 combat mode)
  • Incandescent Blow
  • Dark Crush
  • Onslaught
  • Rushing Smash

Daevanion Board guide for Aion 2’s Chanter

Your Daevanion Board is incredibly useful for getting more powerful in Aion 2. You’re primarily going to reach out to the orange nodes for specific stats. Then, you’ll pick up passive and active skills that are skills along or close to those lines, to increase their levels.

It’s a very easy system to use, especially compared to other MMOs like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. We’ve given you the baseline of what you need below, and then you fill it up with skills above that have extra points you need. You can also use the Arcana system to increase those skill ranks as well, if possible.

  • Cooldown Reduction nodes

Important stats to keep in mind for your gear

Depending on your method of play, your desired stats and gameplay as a whole will be different as a Chanter in Aion 2. We’re highlighting a few of the sub-stats below that you should consider focusing on. These may not be your only stats, but they are some we think are important.

  • Critical Hit: Increases your potential damage, which is always a nice thing.
  • Critical Damage: Actively increases your damage when you crit.
  • Combat Speed: Makes sure your actions are activating faster, and thus, your skill chains are quicker, and your DPS goes up.
  • Cooldown Reduction: Especially when you don’t have free Dark Crush, making its cooldown as low as possible is beneficial.
  • Accuracy: Make sure your attacks aren’t missing.
