Matthew Stafford entered the season with hopes of leading the Los Angeles Rams on another championship run. However, inconsistent performances have raised questions about the veteran quarterback’s form.
He has six interceptions through four games, and analyst Chris Broussard wants to know whether age is beginning to catch up with him.
Thanks for the submission!
During an appearance on “First Things First,” Broussard challenged Stafford to prove that he can still deliver consistently. The analyst argued that flashes of brilliance are no longer enough to dismiss concerns about his recent mistakes.

“Matthew Stafford, has father time caught up with you? I think that’s a legitimate question at this point,” Broussard said.

He continued by explaining why Stafford’s best moments have not erased his concerns.
“At times, you still look great, but that’s what happens. Even old guys can look great at times,” Broussard added.
The challenge is a bit frustrating for the Rams. Their offensive production suggests they should be among the NFL’s most dangerous teams, but turnovers and inconsistent execution have harmed them heavily.

Matthew Stafford’s turnovers raise concerns for Rams
In the first four weeks, the Rams ranked second in total offense with 417 yards per game and second in passing offense with 290.3 yards per game. Those numbers should paint an impressive picture, but the team’s output and efficiency tell a whole different story.
Sean McVay’s team averaged 21.3 points per game and is ranked 19th in the league. The Rams also rank sixth in offensive success rate.
Stafford’s turnover numbers have been troubling. He recorded six touchdown passes and six interceptions through four games. His interception on the opening drive against the Philadelphia Eagles was the first time in his career that he had thrown an interception in each of the first four games of a season.
Broussard is not floating a narrative that the Rams should look to replace Stafford. However, the margin for error is shrinking and Stafford must protect the football, make better decisions in critical moments.
