The latest episode of WWE RAW opened with Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn talking with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns ahead of their Crown Jewel match.
Bron Breakker faced Penta, while JD McDonagh tangled with Joey Hendry. Chad Gable put the Intercontinental Title on the line against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. Lyra Valkyria battled Lola Vice.
Thanks for the submission!
Adam Pearce agreed to a future match between Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch once La Primera was medically cleared. Despite a few good matches, WWE made the next four mistakes on RAW from San Diego.
#4. Good guys cheat to win two matches
Both Penta and Lola Vice benefited from outside interference to win their matches on WWE RAW. Bayley was stalking Lyra Valkyria earlier in the day, leading to Lyra’s match with Vice.
Bayley hid under the ring and grabbed Valkyria’s leg when Lyra was outside the ring. Bayley then grabbed Lyra by the hair while the official’s back was turned. Vice didn’t cheat herself, but a heel lost because a babyface interfered.
Heels are supposed to cheat, which the Vision tried to do when Bron Breakker battled Penta. However, Je’Von Evans blasting Breakker with the briefcase doesn’t protect Bron as much as they think. Both situations paint a picture that it’s okay if good guys do bad things for the right reason.
#3. Chad Gable defends his title against two WWE stars he’s already beaten
This isn’t a knock on the match quality because the triple threat between Gable, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio was a fast-paced, excitement-filled showing. It was clearly an excuse to get Rey in front of the San Diego crowd.
He could have just as easily had an in-ring segment. Instead, Gable defended the title against two WWE stars he’s already defeated. He beat both Lee and Mysterio cleanly in previous weeks.
Adam Pearce claims only he can make the matches, but Gable handpicked those opponents. He also denies Ethan Page a shot at the Intercontinental Championship because he hasn’t won lately. That doesn’t apply to Rey or Lee.
#2. Bron Breakker loses again
Bron Breakker was booked like a force during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but that was because WWE didn’t plan on him winning. They booked him that way as a consolation prize because they planned on Penta capturing the briefcase.
Booking the two against each other on RAW was a lose-lose situation. Penta shouldn’t lose at Mr. Money in the Bank. Breakker shouldn’t lose again after another disappointing booking setback from Money in the Bank.
Instead of ending the match in a disqualification to protect both men, Je’Von Evans blasted Bron with the case, giving Penta the win. The Vision tried to cheat earlier, but they’re supposed to cheat since they’re heels. Evans also punched Austin Theory with his injured hand.
#1. Chelsea Green competes more on RAW than Liv Morgan
Liv Morgan’s inactivity defending the Women’s World Championship after winning the title at WrestleMania 42 was a huge issue. She didn’t defend the title once in her first 100 days as champion.
She also beat IYO SKY in her first official title defense. Stephanie Vaquer won the title back in September to put the division back on track. What did Triple H do at Money in the Bank?
He had Morgan win the title back in a triple threat after a short reign for La Primera. While it’s only been two episodes of RAW since that change, the proof is already evident again.
Chelsea Green, SmackDown’s champion, has competed twice on RAW since Money in the Bank. Morgan hasn’t wrestled once. She didn’t team with Roxanne Perez or Raquel Rodriguez against Green and IYO SKY. Shouldn’t she be wrestling to undo the stink of her first run with the belt?
