“Stone’s story is a powerful example of what reformer Pilates can do, both for elite athletes and for anyone working to get stronger,” Bertus Albertse, CEO of Jetset Pilates, said in a statement. “His drive, discipline and deep roots in Fort Bend County make him exactly the kind of franchise partner we want representing JETSET as we grow in the Houston area.”
The new 2,400-square-foot studio will be open seven days a week at 10040 Highway 6, Suite 200. It will feature 14 reformers, DJ-curated music, 50-minute classes and 10 instructors, a news release says. The studio is expected to create 18 local jobs.
Garrett, who played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals, turned to reformer Pilates while recovering from an injury he sustained in 2023. The exercise helped him return to the field.
“After my injury, reformer Pilates was really the only workout I could do,” Garrett said in a statement. “It was pretty much a career-ending injury, but reformer Pilates helped me get back in shape. When I retired, I saw there was a real need for reformer Pilates in Fort Bend County, especially in Missouri City, and I wanted to bring it to the community I grew up in.”
