The UFC is in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, on Saturday for a solid UFC 333 card. In the co-main event, the bantamweight title is up for grabs as Petr Yan defends his belt in a trilogy bout against Merab Dvalishvili. Heading into the fight, Yan is a -158 favorite while the challenger is a +124 underdog.
Ahead of the bout at UFC 333, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions for the bantamweight title fight. The pros believe Yan will get his hand raised, but the fighters are expecting a close fight.
BJPENN.com Fighter Picks Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3:
Dan Ige, UFC bantamweight: I think Merab reclaims his belt. I do think he was overworked a bit last year.
Drakkar Klose, UFC lightweight: I’d love to see Yan win it. I think he uses the same game plan as he did last time.
John Castaneda, UFC bantamweight: I think Merab gets his belt back. The last fight, to me, was because of how busy he was. He had time to rest his body, and I do think that will help him a lot in the trilogy.
Kai Kamaka III, UFC featherweight: This fight I am excited to see. Yan showed he can keep it standing in the last fight, and on the feet, he is so technical. Every round also starts on the feet and I think it will look similar to the last fight with Yan getting a decision win.
Kyle Nelson, UFC lightweight: I’m gonna go with Yan. I think the last fight was telling and he figured out Merab a bit.
Modestas Bukauskas, UFC light heavyweight: This fight is super interesting and a tough fight, I could see it going either way. I do think Merab can edge out a close decision.
Marcus McGhee, UFC bantamweight: I’m going with Petr Yan. I think he follows a very similar game plan to what he did in the last one.
