The MongolZ have secured their first trophy since winning Esports World Cup 2025 — 14 months ago — after a masterclass against PARIVISION in the best-of-five grand final at 1win Private Club Season 2.
The tournament marked the debut of the new-look The MongolZ roster, which saw Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar return to the active lineup and the addition of Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga from The Huns.
Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren’s men have struggled to return to a top level since benching — and later losing — Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold, and their fortunes took a turn for the worse after Ayush “mzinho” Batbold also departed the lineup to link up with his former teammate on BC.Game.
A few playoff runs did little to ease the sting of several group stage exits, and the team opted for a bigger change after exiting FISSURE Playground 3 in last place.
Their Major invite never truly looked in danger, but their dismal run of form left the possibility of missing a direct invite to Stage 2 on the table. That possibility has likely been averted after a stellar run in their debut event with nin9 at 1win Private Club, where The MongolZ tallied an opening win over Alliance before dropping down to the lower bracket following a blowout 0-2 loss to BIG in the upper semi-finals.
But bLitz’s side recovered spectacularly with their backs against the wall, powering past magic and PRIVATE to earn a rematch against BIG in the consolidation final. This time, The MongolZ emerged victorious, reverse-sweeping the series with dominant wins on Inferno (13-3) and Mirage (13-7) after losing Cache (4-13) thanks to a server-leading 1.60-rated showing by Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch.
It was a storybook ending to the event for the team’s new addition, nin9, as he took over in the title decider after a relatively quiet tournament. The 28-year-old posted a 1.56 rating across a three-map series that saw The MongolZ only tested on Mirage, needing all 24 rounds to secure the win after nearly letting a 12-4 lead slip while dominating on Ancient (13-6) and Dust2 (13-4).
