Vidanta World Mexico Open Round 4 tee times: What to know
What to know?
Andrew Novak.
Andrew Novak, Andrew Novak, Andrew Novak.
End of story.
Through three rounds, he’s played the Vidanta Vallarta golf course as if it were a pitch-and-putt. On Thursday, he shot a four-under 67. On Friday, he shot a 61, which tied both the course record and his career-best score. On Saturday, he was one shot worse, though a 62 is far from bad. Added all together, Novak is at 23-under after 54 holes, and he’s leading by a whopping seven shots.
How’s he doing it? His putter, which he found in the back of his closet, put in play in August at the Wyndham Championship, and has been a godsend ever since.
“It’s rusted out, it’s old, but I know it works,” Novak said of the putter. “I don’t know loft on it, I don’t know the lie on it, but for the last four tournaments, I’ve done pretty well making putts.
“So I think maybe I was just overthinking some things and yeah, I’ve just gone back to hitting putts. I might do some chalk line stuff now for start line, but really keeping it very simple and trying not to overthink it.”
Novak will tee off on at 12:51 p.m. ET on Sunday alongside Matthieu Pavon and Doug Ghim.
