MaSvAl’s impressive performances on the last two maps guided his team to victory
magic’s excellent recent form has continued with another win at Stake Ranked Episode 2, a 2-1 victory sending Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and his men down to the lower bracket of the competition.
The result is the another notable win in magic’s recent meteoric rise which began earlier this month at PGL Astana, where the young squad completed an upset run to the semi-finals of the tier-one LAN competition.
magic followed up their Astana run with an opening victory over 3DMAX at the Stake Ranked event in Barcelona, and now have secured an upper final berth with a win over FaZe.
The series began in difficult fashion for magic as they were utterly decimated on their own pick of Mirage, falling to an 0-12 T side in the face of an irresistible 22-frag defensive half by Twistzz before going on to lose the map.
Nikita “tenzy” Kochenyuk and Svyatoslav “MaSvAl” Masko ensured their team bounced back with excellent performances on Dust2, magic clinching a hard-fought map with a flurry of late T rounds after once again struggling to get going on offense.
magic finished the series on Mirage despite a heroic effort by David “frozen” Čerňanský, ending a back-and-forth map with a strong defensive effort powered by MaSvAl and Andrey “AW” Anisimov’s multi-kills.
magic now await the winner of Sharks vs, Ninjas in Pyjamas in the upper final, whilst FaZe will face off against 9z in the lower bracket.
