AEW star Chris Jericho revealed that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon did not like a multi-time World Champion for a bizarre reason.
The aforementioned star, who is a former AEW World Champion, is Bryan Danielson. He rose to mainstream prominence for his stint in WWE under the ring name Daniel Bryan. With his YES! movement, insane popularity, and hard work that led him to win the main event of WrestleMania XXX, Danielson became a marquee attraction in the Stamford-based promotion in the mid 2010s.
Despite the American Dragon’s status as a top star, Vince McMahon did not like him, according to Chris Jericho. In a recent edition of his podcast, Talk is Jericho, the Demo God revealed that one of the reasons for McMahon’s dislike of Danielson was Danielson’s veganism, among many others, which Jericho was unable to recall.
“He didn’t like Bryan [Danielson] because Bryan was a vegan. Classic Vince. There’s other reasons, but I remember that was one of it. (imitates Vince) ‘Doesn’t eat steak, ugh.’”- H/T Fightful

Chris Jericho’s feud with Ricochet saw both men lead their respective squads in a Stadium Stampede match at AEW Double or Nothing 2026, which Jericho’s side won. Before the match, AEW aired a cinematic vignette featuring all the competitors.
Following the event, the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla shared the vignette on his Instagram and called it one of his favorite things he had ever been involved in. Furthermore, Jericho thanked the popular band Metallica for allowing the company to use one of their songs for the clip.
“In 35 years of being in the wrestling biz, the opening credits for tonight’s #StadiumStampede is one of my favorite things I’ve ever been involved with and one of the best things I’ve done in @aew!! Thanks to the whole #AEW team for putting in a solid 24 hours of work to film & edit this and thanks to @metallica for letting us use this monster of a tune!!”
As Chris Jericho continues to remain a top fixture for AEW, it will be interesting to see what is next for him in Tony Khan’s company.
