El Grande Americano, aka Ludwig Kaiser, had his and apparently AAA’s best match of all time on May 30. He battled the ‘Original’ El Grande Americano and secured a historic win to unmask him at AAA Noche de Los Grandes Week 1. Now that we officially know it was Chad Gable behind that ‘Original’ El Grande, it is no wonder that Kaiser is the only El Grande now.
Now, in an X post on Saturday, WWE revealed what he had to say in a backstage interview after the match. El Grande was being carried by Rayo and Bravo Americano, as he was too tired to walk on his own. Kaiser spoke about being able to accomplish the feat due to his friends (Rayo and Bravo), his country and people, and Mexico.

“I did it, but this was only possible because I have friends here, and I have my country, my people, and Mexico,” Kaiser said. “I have no words, my people and all of Mexico. Thank you so much for everything. I love you all. I have no words. I am really, really grateful. Thank you so much for everything, love you all.”
The video comes a week after El Grande’s historic match. However, in the few days after his win, he had something to say too. Americano announced he will share a special announcement about something close to his heart. It will be exciting to see what El Grande has in store next.
‘Original’ El Grande Americano is done, and Chad Gable is back
Chad Gable made his anticipated return to WWE television on Friday’s SmackDown in Bologna, Italy. This marked his first appearance as Gable since June 2025, leaving behind his ‘Original’ El Grande Americano gimmick.
Gable appeared in a backstage segment, interrupting a tense conversation between Sami Zayn and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The crowd cheered loudly for Gable, knowing what incredible stuff he did as El Grande at AAA Noche de Los Grandes.
Later in the show, Gable sought out Rey Fenix backstage to deliver a face-to-face apology. He reflected on their WrestleMania 41 encounter, where Gable confessed he started wearing the mask to mock luchadores. He admitted he was wrong and had failed to understand. Fénix accepted the apology too.
