Alexander Zverev is a Grand Slam champion.

After multiple near misses, the German star finally clinched a major title after beating 10th seed Flavio Cobolli in the Roland Garros final.

In what was a back-and-forth affair on Court Philippe Chatrier, Zverev held his nerve to close out Sunday’s contest 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1.

How many more Grand Slams does Alexander Zverev win now?

What a final!

Despite winning Roland Garros, Zverev is most definitely not a serious contender for the Wimbledon title.

The German has a poor record at the event, failing to advance past the fourth round in nine attempts.

With Zverev’s grass-court struggles noted, which three players are more likely than him to win the Wimbledon title?

Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is the favourite to win his second Wimbledon title, despite his recent struggles at Roland Garros.

The Italian struggled to deal with the hot conditions in Paris, and was stunned in the second round by Juan Manuel Cerúndolo.

With that being said, Sinner remains the clear favourite for this year’s Wimbledon crown.

Sinner, the defending champion in London, is the best grass-court player on the Tour and has extra motivation to win the title following his early exit in Paris.

Sinner will also have an easier route to the title due to the absence of Carlos Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic

Despite his age, Novak Djokovic remains one of the most fearsome grass-court players on the ATP Tour.

Djokovic, a seven-time champion at the All England Club, will be seeking to win a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title when he competes in London this summer.

Djokovic – like Sinner – recently suffered an early exit at Roland Garros, losing a five-set thriller to Brazilian youngster Joao Fonseca.

However, this loss is unlikely to knock the confidence of a man who has dominated at Wimbledon throughout large stretches of his career.

Underestimate the Serbian superstar at your peril!

Taylor Fritz

Taylor Fritz has endured a tumultuous year on the ATP Tour.

The American developed knee tendinitis during the 2025 off-season, and has been managing the physical issue throughout this season.

Fritz stated that his knee was ‘a lot better’ last month, and if the former major finalist can maintain good physical health, he will be a serious contender for the Wimbledon title.

Fritz has long been an excellent grass-court player, as demonstrated by his four Eastbourne Open titles and his strong recent performances at Wimbledon.

Last year, Fritz came close to appearing in his first Wimbledon final.

The American – who had multiple set points in the fourth set – was defeated 4-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-7 by Carlos Alcaraz.
