Alex Pereira is disappointed in several people coming out of his UFC White House loss to Ciryl Gane on Sunday.

First there’s Gane, whom Pereira believes hit him with several big elbows and punches to the back of the head in their interim heavyweight title fight. And then there’s referee Herb Dean, who allowed Gane to get away with those illegal blows. Pereira has had a lot to say about the situation, and has been sharing Instagram Stories of Gane cheating and Dean screwing up fights all day.

Then there’s fellow two-division champion Jon Jones. “Bones” apparently didn’t take too kindly to folks suggesting Pereira could be the new GOAT if he won a third title at the UFC White House event. So when Pereira went down in a blaze of glory, Jones posted a video wearing a diamond encrusted goat medallion and raised his eyebrows.

“I saw the video and to be honest, I was very surprised,” Pereira said in Portuguese of Jones. “If I was one of the guys that provoked him and then lost, and then he goes and says something? Then I’d understand. But I’ve never spoken bad about Jon Jones. I’ve always respected [him].”

“Many people ask, ‘Alex do you consider yourself the best?’ Ask him to show me one time in an interview saying that I’m the best. I said that only brings arguments. I don’t know, if you consider me [the best], okay. If not, still okay. I make my money, I’m making history and if you think that, I’m not gonna argue with you. So I don’t understand. For real, I don’t understand why he did that.”

“In a difficult moment like this, he decides to provoke someone who’s never provoked him,” Pereira continued. “Look at the difference, when he was going through a difficult time, I sent him support. Nobody is the same, everyone thinks in their own way. I’ve always spoken well about him. Even with all this, I won’t stop being a fan of his. I just don’t understand why he did that.”

Pereira has already seen how attitudes and opinions can change after a loss when Magomed Ankalaev defeated him at the beginning of 2026. “Poatan” spent a year being doubted and dismissed following that bout only to come back and smash Ankalaev in the rematch. We’re sure he’s plotting a similar return to form, and using all the haters as fuel for his comeback.
