After FURIA’s victory over 9z in the LANXESS Arena, HLTV spoke to Yuri “yuurih” Santos to get his thoughts on the game, getting back in form, and winning the kind of clutches that helped the team’s trophy streak in 2025.
On winning four clutches on Mirage: “Actually, it was hard, the pistol. I just went crazy, and I think I expected a guy going stairs in the 2v1, so I knew he was close. When I killed him, I knew I would win the round. But afterward, I played bad, we lost the force-buy as well. My bad.
“But Mirage, my team played really good, they helped me a lot as well, everyone played insane. About the clutches, of course, last year we had a good result because of the clutches. We were winning everything, even against Vitality. Now, we have been winning clutches again, so let’s see.
On his form: “Since the start of the year, I have been struggling on T side. For example, last year, I was the best player in the team on T side, and this year I have been struggling, so it’s been so hard for me. There are some tournaments that, as a team, we play good, and with that I play good T side as well. About CT side, I have been playing good, but it’s more about T side since the start of the year, and it has been hard. “
On easier side of the bracket and Aurora game: “Yeah, it’s easier, the bracket. For sure. The top bracket is the best teams in the world, but even with this bracket, there are really good teams. After tomorrow, we’re going to play Aurora, and they’re a really good team. They are showing good CS here at the Major, so of course it will be really tough. But we know that we can win and go to the finals.”
