Twitch streamer Rakai says his school refused to let him walk at graduation because officials believed he could “create a disturbance” during the ceremony.
The 17-year-old creator, also known online as 2xRakai, has become one of the most recognizable young streamers in Kai Cenat’s circle after breaking out through viral IRL content and appearances in major creator events.
Rakai’s real-life schooling has also become part of his online story, with the streamer frequently discussing graduation on stream while balancing his internet career with high school.
Rakai says school stopped him from walking graduation
In a post on X on June 20, Rakai claimed his school had decided not to let him take part in the graduation ceremony.
“The school isn’t going to let me walk today,” he wrote. “They believe it would create a disturbance and interrupt the graduation ceremony, so they’ve decided not to allow it.”
However, Rakai said he had still officially graduated, despite not being allowed to take part in the walk.
“I still graduated and we will open my diploma on stream when I receive it,” he added.
Rakai did not name the school in the post or provide further details about what officials believed could happen if he attended the ceremony. It is also unclear whether the decision was tied to a specific incident or was made because of his public profile.
The situation comes after Rakai’s education became a recurring talking point among fans, with Kai Cenat previously pushing him to finish school as his streaming career continued to grow.
Rakai has also leaned into school-themed content online, including appearances around Streamer University and other education-style streams that blur the line between real-life milestones and content.
For now, the streamer appears to be turning the missed ceremony into another online moment, telling fans he plans to open his diploma live once it arrives.
