The Bulgarian squad, led by Hristiyan “REDSTAR” Pironkov’s 1.33 rating across the series, inflicted another painful loss on Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski’s troops after their recent 0-3 exit in Stage 2 of the Cologne Major.
Elsewhere in the group, Sashi got the better of 9INE, Inner Circle defeated AM, and a João “koala” Pfeffer-led Sharks sent Eternal Fire to the lower bracket.
In Group B, the action started with EAC beating Henrich “sl3nd” Hevesi’s INFINITE with a 2-0 scoreline, while Echo beat Betclic.
The standout game of day one came against OG and FOKUS, where the Casper “cadiaN” Møller-led squad, which played 52 maps this year before their appearance in Romania, was sent to the lower bracket by Erik “ztr” Gustafsson and company.
Also in Group B, K27 have been forced to withdraw from Digital Crusade Super DraculaN Season 1 due to visa issues, leading to them forfeiting two matches and losing 31 VRS points.
