The Rock is one of the most popular names in WWE history. A surprising star paid tribute to The People’s Champion at Night of Champions.

In the first title match of the premium live event, Ricky Saints challenged Trick Williams for the WWE United States Championship. As has been the case with The Anointed One’s recent appearances, popular American rapper Lil Yachty was in his corner.

During the bout, Ricky Saints fooled the referee into thinking that Lil Yachty attacked him with a kendo stick. It led the official to send the 28-year-old to the back. But it did not affect Trick Williams’ concentration, and he secured the win to retain the title.

Lil Yachty got his revenge after the match. He hit Ricky Saints with the kendo stick and followed up with the People’s Elbow, paying homage to The Brahma Bull by using his signature move.

The Rock’s last appearance on WWE programming was at the 2025 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. He was in the ring when John Cena attacked Cody Rhodes to turn heel. However, it did not lead to anything more significant, as he never showed up after the PLE.

WWE Superstar Trick Williams opens up about his partnership with Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty has often spoken about his love for professional wrestling. He is currently the on-screen manager and hype man for Trick Williams.

Speaking in an interview with SneakerReport, the United States Champion opened up about his partnership with Lil Yachty. Williams spoke highly of the popular rapper and hailed him for his love and passion for WWE.

“He’s a guy who obviously loves the business. He don’t necessarily need to do everything that he’s doing because he’s had and is having a very successful hip-hop career, movies, everything like that. The truth is he just loves the business. That’s why he comes to all the shows for years now. Opportunity came before WrestleMania. They wanted to get him involved in some way and they said, ‘How would you feel about walking out with Trick Willy?’ They asked him and they asked me. I thought it was dope. He thought it was dope. But he was like, ‘Man, if we’re gonna do this, I don’t want it to be a one week type thing. I want to have some real storyline going into this. Let’s make this a moment instead of a random one-off.’ He’s been locked in ever since. We’ve got training in about an hour, we make sure that he’s getting active, he’s getting the full experience of being a superstar here with us. That’s my boy, man. Inside the ring, outside the ring. I probably spend more time with Yachty than most other people who are in the business who are my co-workers.”

It will be interesting to see if Lil Yachty competes in a wrestling match in the future.
