Surging boxing phenom Abdullah Mason, who just turned 22 years of age a few months ago, improved his perfect record to 22-0 last night (Sat., July 4, 2026) in spectacular fashion in Cleveland, Ohio, retaining his WBO Lightweight title, in the process.

Indeed, going into the final frame of his 12-round title fight against another undefeated IBF and NABA lightweight champion in Albert Bell who was 28-0 coming into the fight, Mason was down a point on the unofficial ringside scorecards in what was truly a back-and-forth scrap.

In a dramatic scene, Mason could be seen asking his corner if he needed a stoppage right before heading out for the final round. His team implored him to go all-out…and he did just that.

Mason stormed out of his stool and tagged Bell with a vicious combo that dropped him in the first five seconds. Moments later, Mason scored yet another knockdown, which prompted a highly-questionable stoppage from the referee, who didn’t even bother to give Bell another chance to answer the count, which drew ire from the ringside commentators.

Nevertheless, Mason retains his title and undefeated record in one of the best come-from-behind victories we have seen in quite some time. See for yourself:

What did you think of the stoppage, fair or foul?
