Johnny Speeds have pulled the trigger on a complete revamp of their squad, benching Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson and coach Adam “friberg” Friberg. This leaves the team with only two players left on the roster, following the recent departure of Anton “Sapec” Palmgren.
“There is only love for the boys,” Johnny Speeds’ statement read. “We fought hard and gave it everything, but the results haven’t been there.”
The changes come following an and-and-down season for Johnny Speeds, during which the team posted a number of deep runs in European competitions but struggled badly for consistency.
After some time adjusting to nawwk’s addition in late February, the team posted some promising initial results, grabbing third at Parken Challenger Championship Season 2 and winning NODWIN Clutch Series 6. This run of form saw them rise to just outside the top 50 in the global VRS.
For the rest of the season Johnny Speeds would post as many poor results as good ones, their run to second in ECL Season 51 Cup 3 a highlight amidst various lowlights, such as their last-place exit in Tipsport Conquest of Prague and early exit from NODWIN Clutch Series 8.
As a result of their inconsistency Johnny Speeds couldn’t rise up the VRS, and they ended the season at 80th in the global standings after a poor showing at Svenska CS-Ligan 2026 Finals.
Johnny Speeds are left with:
Ludvig “HEAP” Alonso
Jacob “jocab” Nerheden
