Lego is trying its level best to strike deals with all of the biggest and most popular IPs in the world. It finally landed the Pokemon license and released the series’ first-ever Lego sets earlier this year; now it looks like Dragon Ball Z will be the next big anime to make its Lego debut.
That’s according to a new, pretty sizable leak from the always reliable Lego leaker, Brick Tap. The leak claims that Lego already has plans for eight Dragon Ball sets. It’s also claimed that it will seemingly be taking a similar approach to the one Lego has taken with KPop Demon Hunters by releasing one set to kick things off before a bigger drop a little while later.
Dragon Ball’s First Leaked Lego Set Is A Buildable Shenron
You’d think that first Dragon Ball set would be modeled around someone like Goku or Piccolo, but apparently not. According to the mega leak, the first Dragon Ball set will be modeled after Shenron. A name casual fans might not even recognize, but once you realize who Shenron is, you’ll get why they’re the one who has reportedly been selected for Dragon Ball Lego duty first.
Shenron is the big green dragon who puts the dragon in Dragon Ball. Get all seven Dragon Balls, and you can summon them to grant you a wish. Piece count, price, and other details about the set aren’t yet known; however, Shenron’s connection to the Dragon Balls might mean the set comes with little Lego versions of them.
The Shenron set will reportedly be here before the end of 2026, with seven more all following in the Lego dragon’s footsteps in 2027. That’s where we’ll see Lego Goku for the first time, as one of the sets will pit the Saiyan against Raditz. A second vs. set will seemingly include even more characters, as it will feature Saiyans against Z Fighters.
Build Your Own Vegeta
Also listed among the right leaked sets is Frieza’s Spaceship, a buildable Vegeta, and a set that depicts the arrival on Namek. Porunga and the Final Battle makes it seven, and set number eight is the Kame House. That’s expected to be the biggest, most complex, and perhaps the most expensive of the bunch, as even though we don’t yet have prices and piece counts, we do have age recommendations, and that’s the only set with an 18+ rating.
The report also details some of the Dragon Ball characters who will be turned into minifigures, noting they’re believed to be high quality with new molds created especially for them. Lego often tries to reuse molds for new minifigures to cut down on costs, much to the annoyance of some of the more hardcore collectors.
The leaked minifigures include Goku, Frieza, Vegeta, and the Ginyu Force. No word yet on which sets those figures might be paired with. The leak also mentions a ninth set of which no details are currently known, and a polybag. Polybags are the very small sets that are typically given away for free. Pokemon recently got a handful of Poke Ball sets that were given away when the 15 new sets were released on August 1.
