Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala collapsed on the pitch for a second successive game during his side’s pre-season friendly against Heidenheim. The Germany international has now been forced out of each of his last two appearances, sparking concern about his health.

Musiala started on the bench for Vincent Kompany’s side as they took on Heidenheim in their final pre-season friendly game. He came on for new signing Ismael Saibari in the 61st minute but lasted just eight minutes before he was replaced by youngster Cassiano Kiala.

He collapsed without having been touched, causing apprehension among the players on the pitch and the fans in the stands. The 23-year-old was able to get back on his feet after receiving prompt medical attention, and walked off on his own, even breaking into a brief jog.

Jamal Musiala’s latest episode comes just three days after he first fainted on the pitch during the Telekom Cup match against RB Leipzig. He was substituted immediately afterwards on that occasion, too, and left the pitch on his feet.

Musiala was absent from the team’s presentation ahead of the new season on Monday after he took part in an individual training session. With his history of serious injuries and his health concerns, the talented midfielder will be a source of worry for Bayern Munich. The club will decide whether to involve the midfielder in their upcoming German Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Jamal Musiala releases statement explaining health situation

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has put out a statement on social media explaining his state of health after after appearing to suffer from syncope in successive games. The Germany international was forced out of the friendly against Heidenheim, which ended 4-2 in favour of his side.

Musiala explained that he has been diagnosed with a neurological condition which causes him to have brief, temporary episodes of absence which are easily treatable. He stated that there are no worries on his part, as he is receiving the best care and bears no additional health risks despite his condition.

He revealed that his decision to continue playing despite the condition was a personal choice and he feels good about it. He has allayed fears about his state of health, explaining the entire situation completely.

Bayern Munich played out an exciting game against Heidenheim, with goals from Felipe Chavez, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Luis Diaz, and Nathaniel Brown ensuring a 4-2 win for them.
