Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will both be eager to return to match action as soon as possible amid their injury issues.
Sinner withdrew from the US Open because of a knee injury, with his last appearance arriving in the Wimbledon final, which he won.
Meanwhile, Djokovic struggled physically in his first round match at the US Open, which he lost to Mariano Navone.
Despite their respective struggles in recent times, both Sinner and Djokovic have just been confirmed for the upcoming China Open in Beijing.

An ATP 500 tournament, the China Open returns to the calendar on 30 September, and concludes on 6 October.
Sinner and Djokovic headline the star-studded field in Beijing, where seven of the world’s top 10 players will take part.
The high-profile duo will be joined by Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur and Daniil Medvedev.
Also committing to the tournament are the likes of Alexander Bublik, Jakub Mensik, Andrey Rublev, Francisco Cerundolo and Cameron Norrie.
The event follows ATP 250s in Chengdu and Hangzhou, and coincides with an ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo, Japan.

What happened at the 2025 China Open?
It is perhaps no surprise that Sinner has decided to return to the China Open, having dominated the event in recent times.
He is the defending champion in Beijing, having also clinched the title in 2023, claiming wins either side of Carlos Alcaraz’s triumph in 2024.
Last time out, top seed Sinner defeated American youngster Learner Tien in the final, winning 6-2, 6-2 after one hour and 13 minutes.

The outdoor hard-court tournament takes place just before the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai, which Valentin Vacherot won in 2025.
Sinner also has previous at that tournament, having lifted the prestigious trophy in China in the 2024 season.
