Alexander Zverev has gained much more than another Grand Slam title after his fantastic run at the US Open.

That superb honor will, of course, be at the forefront of his mind, with his first having arrived at this year’s French Open.

But Zverev has also stormed to the top of the Race to Turin after his US Open success, while his ATP title tally now stands at 26.

Of course, the German has also been financially rewarded for his efforts in New York, which culminated in a final victory over Ben Shelton.

Zverev has earned $5.5million for going all the way at Flushing Meadows, helping him climb the ATP all-time earnings list.

Alexander Zverev labelled ‘one of the best athletes’ in tennis history after US Open title

Zverev has rightfully been the subject of high praise following his success in New York, where he was the top seed.

Sharing her verdict on the German, former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “There is no one as fit as Zverev, he is right up there.

“You can argue about Alcaraz and Sinner, and Novak and Rafa when they were in their prime physically, but Zverev is right up there as one of the best athletes to play the sport.”

It’s quite the compliment from Bartoli, who was clearly left impressed by the level Zverev showed in the three-hour, 33-minute win.

Most significantly, he was involved in two five-set matches at the very start of his run, which were followed by more routine victories for the ATP ace.
