Jack Draper has confirmed that he will not return to tennis until the start of the 2027 season.
Draper has been dealing with a bone bruise in his dominant left arm, and has been limited to just 15 matches across the entirety of 2026.
The Briton, who has slipped to 155th in the ATP rankings amid his struggles, has now confirmed the end to his current campaign on social media.

Posting a difficult update on his Instagram, Draper wrote: “Don’t usually love lots of words on here but I wanted to update you that I am aiming to return to the tour at the start of 2027.
“Last summer all the dedication and work I had put into this sport was coming together. It was all going my way and the path seemed so clear.
“However a complicated injury made things incredibly challenging and since that moment I’ve been desperately trying to get back and feel as I once did on the court.
“Managing so much change, adversity and pain has helped me to grow massively in many areas of my life but has also made me feel a level of fatigue that made it difficult to keep going. I am taking this time to reset and heal so when I return I am 100% ready to go.
“Tennis is my purpose and passion and so when I step back on court I want to make sure that there’s nothing holding me back from where I want to go and achieve the things I know I’m capable of.
“I really appreciate all the continued support from my sponsors, team and people who enjoy following my tennis and I look forward to being back on court to give it my all next year!”

It’s a real shame regarding the British star, who boasts three ATP titles and once climbed to number four in the rankings.
However, injuries have undoubtedly prevented Draper from fulfilling his full potential, but hope remains that he can return to his best sooner rather than later.
The 24-year-old has been faced with many tough decisions in light of his struggles, but ending his campaign now looks set to be the right choice.

He clearly needs time to work through his injury, both on and off the court, and with the right support there is every chance he can make a full recovery.
Clearly a popular figure in the tennis world, Draper has received many messages of support following his significant update.
That includes a comment from his ATP counterpart Alexander Bublik, who wrote under the social media post: “Can’t wait to see you back my man.”
