I had some moderately priced rain gear for hunting that I used for golf a few years ago, can’t remember the brand, and I bought it a couple sizes too big. That way it was loose and allowed for air movement. I didn’t notice any difficulty in swinging with the larger size. I’ve had several FootJoy jackets over the years, plenty waterproof, but had the breathability of a trash bag.”

- @cristphoto: “I have a Dryjoy Hydrolite in short sleeve and don’t have any problems with excess heat. Could be because of the short sleeves or that I only wash it (typically 2-3 times a year) using Nikwax Tech Wash. Very useful in preventing ‘wet out.’
- @hammergolf: “Here’s the thing I’ve learned from many trips to Ireland and Scotland. I’ve had $600 jackets, and $100 jackets. If it rains hard enough and long enough you’re going to soaked regardless of what you wear. My best recommendation is to look for close outs on the previous years models. You can find some great deals if you check some of the discount sites.”
