3DMAX won Logitech G Play Connect in Warsaw on Wednesday after a five-map marathon against Luminosity in the final, earning 214 Valve points and entering the qualification zone for PGL Major Singapore as Europe’s 18th-highest-ranked side.
The campaign was far from straightforward for the French side, who finished second in their group after a three-way tie with BBL and EYEBALLERS, following losses to Inner Circle and Liquid.
3DMAX then edged past M80 and Inner Circle in three-map affairs before winning the nearly seven-hour grand final by denying Luminosity the reverse sweep with an overtime win on the decider map of Nuke.
The victory in the Polish event — their second title this month after winning NODWIN Clutch Series 11 — comes as a timely boost for the French outfit, who are reportedly on the brink of joining Envy.
The North American organization all but confirmed its return to the game in a post on X immediately after the final.
Bryan “Maka” Canda’s troops will hope to ride this wave into their next LAN events, starting with the 1win Private Club Season 1, a $100,000 event that kicks off Friday in Belgrade.
Luminosity, who are ranked 17th in Europe, seven points above 3DMAX, will return to action at Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona on October 1.
