“Mark my words, I’m going to knock out everyone they put in front of me,” Freire told Ariel Helwani. “I think our styles match up and we can have a great fight. It could be a war, or it could be easy for me or for him. He’s in a great position right now, and I think he’s avoiding me. I had a great performance last Saturday and now I say his name, let’s see. He was frozen for three minutes [against Jose Delgado], and the guy was almost knocking him out [at Noche UFC 4]. If that was me, he was done. I believe I can beat him, that’s why I challenged him.”
“I was a little bit frustrated in my life,” Freire added. “I don’t know why, just something with my mind. I was working on it. I brought back my old coach who worked with me when I was knocking everyone out in Bellator. Now he’s working with me again. I don’t know, I feel like we made a few little changes, a few little moves in my training camp, and we were successful. All my life, all I do is train and watch fights. I don’t know how to do anything else. I went like this for 10 years. I wasn’t happy with anything… I was emotionless. The only time I was happy was with my kids. Now, I think I’m 50-50. I’m bringing it back.”
