Mighty Mike Plays’ dad, Dave, is reportedly a millionaire, as YouTuber Scott Shafer claimed he found multiple properties owned by him.
Back on September 15, the internet was introduced to the Mighty Mike Plays YouTube channel after his dad, Dave, claimed that his young son had spent almost $120,000 on YouTube ads. The dad said that, initially, he had a small $20 ad campaign to get some eyes on the channel, but it snowballed over months.
Dave claimed that he had lost his job over it – seeing as his company card was billed – and had 30 days to repay the money. A GoFundMe campaign was also started, aimed at helping the family out, while AI-generated t-shirt designs were also sold.
Along with the gameplay skill in the videos changing, the t-shirt sales brought some backlash, with many holding skepticism over the whole situation as a result.
Mighty Mike Plays’ dad is reportedly a multimillionaire
Some YouTubers have done some digging into things, claiming that Mighty Mike’s dad is a millionaire in the first place, alleging that it has been a “scam” to bring in money.
“Dave, or as I like to refer to him, Diabolical Dave, the scammer behind the Mighty Mike Plays. We know exactly who he is, we found his full name,” Scott Shafer said in his September 24 video. “I personally found two homes that he owns in Glendale, California, that are collectively worth $4 million.
“So, this guy has a bunch of money. The fact that this guy was like ‘you’ve got to feel bad for me, my kids spent $120,000, we might have to sell the home’ Dude, you’ve got two homes worth $4 million. Come on guys, this doesn’t make any sense at all.”
The YouTuber showed that one of the homes was sold in June 2026. “Clearly, he has the assets to pay this off,” Shafer added.
Shafer also noted that David Sarkysian – Mighty Mike’s dad – has also been running a media and advertising company.
The contact details and personal address listed for the company match what was previously on the website selling Mighty Mike’s T-shirts, which he called “fishy” at first.
“For Dave to claim that the company he worked for fired him because his son spent $120,000 in ads is completely untrue. He owns the company,” the YouTuber added. “You can’t make that claim if you are the owner of the company.”
As noted, the channel continues to be embroiled in drama, with posts from Dave being deleted, video titles being updated, and libel lawsuits being threatened.
