The recent Minecraft Live show had plenty of exciting announcements for players to look forward to, which includes none other than the first new dimension added to the game in over a decade. While all the new items, blocks, mobs, and gameplay possibilities are great on their own, that’s far from all Mojang had to offer.
Although it wasn’t part of the main show itself, Minecraft posted a new free cosmetic that you’ll be able to snag for a limited time over the next two weeks, just by following a few simple steps.
Minecraft Players Can Grab A Free Cape For A Limited Time
Announced today on the official Minecraft X account, Mojang is offering the free Aurora Cape for both Java and Bedrock editions of the game, which you can claim entirely for free starting on September 29th at 12:00 AM PST, until October 14 11:59 PM PST. Releasing as a celebration and marketing campaign for Minecraft Dungeons 2, the brightly colored cape is definitely one of the cuter options to choose from.
All you have to do to claim the cape itself is simply watch any Twitch Partner or Affiliate streaming Minecraft Dungeons 2 for a total of 15 minutes, or watch 3 minutes of Minecraft Dungeons 2 content on Game Reward-enabled TikTok streams.
Once you’ve finished watching, you’ll be sent a code that you can claim on Minecraft’s official redemption page in order to permanently add the cape to your account, which can then be swapped out and worn whenever you want.
Minecraft Is Getting Some Major Improvements Soon
Considering how rarely Minecraft ever offers a chance to grab capes, especially a free one, the pastel Aurora drop is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of while you have the chance, especially when it comes to preparing for the next major update to the game.
With the new Sift dimension having been supposedly in development for half a decade, the major content update is one of the biggest overhauls to Minecraft in years, standing up against fan-favorites with the changes made to Caves and Cliffs back in 2021.
