Ninjas in Pyjamas have gone through a turbulent time of late, replacing long-standing captain Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer with Karim “Krimbo” Moussa and signing Adam “adamb” Ångström in place of temporary addition Roman “n0te” Hamze.
Their first tournament at Logitech G Play Connect 2026 didn’t go according to plan in a group-stage exit, but the team bounced back with a win at 1win Private Club S1 after a few extra days of practice.
After the victory, adamb spoke to HLTV about his return to the Swedish organization, their first title together, and shared some insight into some of his new teammates.
adamb, congrats on the win. Coming to this event, did you expect that you could actually lift that cheque over here?
Yeah, for sure. The first tournament we played was in Poland, the Logitech one. We had two days of practice before, two days of me joining as a new player, having never talked with any of the team before. But I think we played well at the event also, but it was unfortunate. A lot of things went bad, and we had situations that we should have won.
But I knew we could win for sure ’cause everyone in the team, they’re so good, they’re helping me a lot. It’s still like we had one week and a half now of practice, we’ve been grinding for the last two weeks, and it’s been two rough weeks I would say, but it’s nice coming into the team for sure.
How comfortable are you feeling in your new team?
I would say I’m getting more comfortable. I’m not fully there yet. It’s still a lot of rounds where I’m asking what am I doing on this round, what should I do here? And then it’s still some new roles for me, like how I should adapt in the team, how I should behave in the team, and it takes time of course, but I think it’s going well, I can say.
So susp also lifted the trophy a couple of days ago. Did that give you extra motivation?
Yeah, for sure. We were talking a bit, me and my big brother, and he just said, ‘Good luck. You will win today, I have a feeling.’ I also said I have a feeling we will win today. And yeah, we did it. So twin luck, I guess (laughs).
So tell me about how you joined NIP. How did you receive that invite? What did you think of that opportunity?
I’ve been talking with NIP for a long time, like some months, a long time actually. I had some pretty good offers, but I really liked the NIP team, like playing with stavn and sjuush, xKacpersky. I think xKacpersky is one of the most insane players I ever played with. Me and him, we’ve been playing FACEIT like maybe five games, four games a day, and we’re just winning, cause he’s so fucking good at this game.

Also it’s crazy what he does in some rounds – I never seen that before. And he’s also young, inexperienced. Of course he has some experience like me, but he’s one of the hardest grinders I have ever seen. So I’m so happy to play with him and all of the guys. Also Krimbo, as our IGL, he’s doing super great calls and also the firepower… I see this team as a top 10 team soon. I have no doubts about that.
Did you expect Krimbo to be so naturally good as an IGL? What did you think of that whole arrangement that he’s a fresh IGL?
No, I was not sure, cause I never played with him or talked with him before, but from day one I joined, he [showed] perfect leadership. He knew exactly how to treat other people. He’s also really good at understanding the game, understanding people, not only inside the game, but also outside the game. He knows what you need to play well, and he knows what you need to be the best player. So that makes him stand out for me. If I just came into the team and didn’t know he was IGL before, I could never guess it, honestly.
NIP is a Swedish org, you’re a Swedish player, and you were a part of NIP Academy project. Did that play a part in you possibly wanting to join this project?
Yeah, for sure. For sure. It’s always fun. I played [in Young Ninjas], and my dream was always to play in NIP back then. Even though it was a long time ago, I always dreamed of it, so it’s kind of a dream come true. I really think we can make NIP come back to the place it once was, of course.
I’m just so happy. I’m happy to be here, I’m really enjoying my time here. They’re such nice boys, we’re grinding all day, everyone is grinding. I never felt this kind of [hunger]. Even though stavn and sjuush are old, they’re grinding so hard, watching demos, playing the game, DM… I think we all played over like 10, 11, 12 hours in the last couple of days every day. And everyone is helping each other. It’s just so beautiful to see, honestly.

Does it also help to bring the positive outlook for you that you come into NIP after a kind of hard period with OG? How do you reflect on that time and what does it mean for you to get an opportunity like this after that stint?
In OG, it was pretty rough for us. We had a lot of player changes and a lot of, how to say it, lower kind of events, and I think we always fell on the [finish] line. I think we had really huge potential. I liked everyone in that team, the coaches, the staff. I was super happy to be there also. I just think it was a bit unlucky and we didn’t make it click, so to say, in OG.
I still think all of the players, they’re insane there, and I’m sure they will have a really good future. I also think cadiaN can keep playing, he’s super good as a leader and everything, he’s one of the closest friends I made in CS. I saw his leadership, and we always laughed together on the server, outside the server. And bodyy also, I think he has also one of the greatest leader personalities, and I hope to see him as an IGL in the future also, honestly.
You say you didn’t really click in OG, but do you think you have already clicked here — at least enough to make the Major maybe?
I wouldn’t say for sure, but I’m pretty secure that we will reach the Major. I don’t want to say too much, but I think we can for sure. I think the first event was a bit of lack of practice, honestly, for me. I still need to adapt a lot. I have new positions, new roles.
I’m entry fragging a lot more, and I have to get used to that. I was once an entry fragger before, but in OG, I was kind of everything. So it will take some time for me, but I think day by day, I’m working hard. Everyone is working hard and helping me, and it’s getting better.
