The Huns veteran Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga has emerged as the frontrunner to fill the last vacant spot on The MongolZ’s roster, multiple sources told HLTV. The 28-year-old could be unveiled soon by the 2025 EWC champions alongside benched player Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar.
nin9 did not feature in The Huns’ ESN Fall Showdown match against 1337 on Wednesday and will also miss the upcoming clash against 5star on Thursday.
The MongolZ’s active roster has been depleted to three players since mid-September, when Zolbayar “tikuak” Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui were moved to the bench after just two months with the team. Two weeks later, tikuak parted ways with The MongolZ and returned to Chinggis Warriors.
cobrazera’s return to the starting lineup has been expected for several weeks, with the 21-year-old having already played for the team at FISSURE Playground 3, where he replaced Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold.
It has taken The MongolZ several weeks, though, to settle on the final piece of the puzzle, with nin9, Maks “laxiee” Andryei and academy talent Bayarbat “M4k” Tugs-Erdene among the players trialed for the role.
nin9 qualified for the Antwerp Major in 2022 alongside bLitz, Techno and head coach maaRaa
nin9 is no stranger to The MongolZ, having played for the team between May and August 2018, when Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat was also part of the lineup.
nin9, Techno, Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren and coach maaRaa were part of the IHC roster that made history in 2022 as the first Mongolian team to qualify for a Major.
If nin9’s addition is completed, The MongolZ will feature:
Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga
Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat (coach)
Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui (benched)
