The main event of Redemption 2026 saw Kenny Omega successfully defending his AEW Men’s World Championship against “The Jet” Kevin Knight in an absolute barnburner. Unfortunately, The Cleaner did not have the chance to celebrate his retention, as the Death Riders promptly attacked him after the bout. The Jon Moxley-led stable was prepared to destroy Kenny’s neck with a steel chair, but Will Ospreay showed up in the nick of time.
The Aerial Assassin tried to protect Omega from his training partners, warding off Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia and PAC with a steel chair. Subsequently, Mox tried to break Will’s resolve and attempted to convince him to give The Best Bout Machine the Bryan Danielson treatment by choking him out with a plastic bag. Ospreay refused, however, and knocked the Death Riders leader down, officially quitting the violent faction.
After repelling the Death Riders, The Sky King shook hands with The God of Professional Wrestling, seemingly reasserting their friendship. However, right before the closing moments of Redemption, Omega blindsided the unsuspecting Ospreay with a One-Winged Angel in an unexpected twist that has greatly raised audience anticipation for their All In: London showdown.
Although the ending of Redemption 2026 has elicited polarizing reactions from fans, it cannot be denied that the post-main event angles from last Sunday’s PPV might launch several exciting stories en route to AEW’s Wembley Stadium show next month.
With that in mind, let us consider three ways Tony Khan might follow up on the chaotic conclusion of Redemption this on Wednesday Night Dynamite this week.
#1: Kenny Omega may explain his betrayal of Will Ospreay
Early on during The Young Bucks’ tag team match against Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay at Redemption, The Aerial Assassin collided heads with Nick Jackson, disorienting the latter noticeably. While the Englishman appeared sympathetic to Nick’s plight, his tag partner kept instructing him to take advantage of the situation to get the upper hand on their opponents. Ospreay could be seen wrestling with his morality, as he refused to brutalize the younger of The Bucks the same way he beat down Adam Brooks earlier this month on AEW Collision.
Moxley, of course, had no such compunctions about expressing his viciousness, as towards the end of the bout, he drilled Nick with multiple Paradigm Shifts, and even a Death Rider DDT. Not content with this, however, The One True King was looking to cause even more damage to the former AEW World Tag Team Champion with a steel chair.
Luckily, Ospreay disarmed him before he could attack, and this conflict opened the door for The Young Bucks to take out The Sky King and superkick Mox over and over again until Nick Jackson pinned him for the win. An irate Moxley later confronted Ospreay backstage, reprimanding him for his hesitation and his unwillingness to pull the trigger when he needed to.
The leader of the Death Riders put the “Billy Goat” to the test again after the main event of Redemption, where Kenny Omega retained his AEW Men’s World Championship against Kevin Knight. Ospreay refused to turn on The Cleaner and seemingly cut his ties with The Purveyor of Violence and his crew. Despite him reaffirming his loyalty to Kenny, the latter ended up shocking fans by planting the 2026 Owen Hart Cup winner with the One-Winged Angel.
Omega will likely explain why he attacked Ospreay at Redemption 2026 on AEW Dynamite. Footage from the PPV seems to indicate that Kenny was upset over his All In: London opponent apparently taking some time to consider whether or not he should suffocate him with a plastic bag, as per Moxley’s orders. The Best Bout Machine could claim that he was hurt that Ospreay, someone he had come to regard as his friend, did not promptly reject Mox’s goading, citing his hesitation as the cause for his shocking reaction.
#2. The Death Riders retaliate against Will Ospreay, but The Young Bucks return a favor
If Kenny Omega does make an appearance this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay is likely going to do the same to confront The God of Pro-Wrestling for putting his hands on him after he rescued him from the Death Riders. The Commonwealth Kingpin may hold all the respect in the world for the Men’s World Champion, but that does not imply that he will take being ambushed by his idol lying down, especially given the fact that he returned this year after neck surgery.
While Omega and Ospreay’s confrontation may or may not turn physical, the latter can almost certainly expect to get jumped by the Death Riders for betraying the group after its members helped train him back into tip-top shape. Jon Moxley and his soldiers might pop up on AEW Dynamite not only to punish the United Empire co-founder, but also to take down Kenny himself, given their unfinished business.
This could prompt The Young Bucks to run down and make the save not just for their Elite stable-mate, but also for Ospreay. Matt and Nick Jackson should remember how the beloved high-flyer stood up to Mox in their favor during their tag match at Redemption 2026. The “Founding Fathers” of AEW even looked unsure about Omega attacking Ospreay after the PPV main event, and so they could be driven to repay the favor by saving him from the Death Riders too.
#3. Swerve Strickland could return to target Jon Moxley, eye AEW Continental Title for All In: London
Even if they teamed up together, Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks would still be overwhelmed by the numbers advantage of the Death Riders. If the heel stable does attack the Jacksons, the AEW World Champion and his All In 2026 challenger this Wednesday, their targets may not stand a fighting chance- unless, of course, they get some help from a returning Swerve Strickland.
The “Most Dangerous Man” of AEW has been missing since he lost to Will Ospreay in the final of the 2026 Owen Hart Tournament at Forbidden Door this past June. Notably, the Death Riders were at ringside in The Aerial Assassin’s corner for the closing stretch of his bloody battle against Swerve. He seemed to have made peace with Ospreay after the matchup, but Strickland might hold Mox and his faction responsible for rattling his focus and, as a result, costing him the win at Forbidden Door.
Swerve has also not forgotten his battles with the Death Riders from last year, especially Moxley retaining his AEW World Title against him at Dynasty 2025. Incidentally, The Mogul does not yet have a match at All In: London, and neither does Mox. Since his friend Ospreay will be going after the Men’s World Championship at Wembley, Strickland could set his sights on the Death Rider leader and his Continental Championship.
The path to Moxley vs. Swerve at All In 2026 could begin this week on AEW Dynamite, if the latter appears on the show to back Ospreay and The Elite against the Death Riders.
