Xbox fans attending the 2026 Games Showcase got more than just a look at the upcoming games, as Microsoft surprised attendees with a free limited edition console.
The Xbox Games Showcase was packed with major announcements as the company celebrated its upcoming 25th anniversary. Alongside fresh looks at highly anticipated titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, State of Decay 3, and Persona 6, Microsoft also unveiled a special Xbox Series X Limited Edition console.
However, the biggest surprise came after the showcase had ended, to which fans got a rather exciting reward for their support.
Xbox CEO gifts all Showcase fans with free limited edition console
During the post-show presentation, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma took to the stage to thank fans for supporting the brand over the last two and a half decades before revealing an unexpected gift:
“How do you feel about the green 25th anniversary Xbox?” asked Sharma, to plenty of celebration among the crowd. She continued: “Well, this is my first showcase, and I know that so many of you have been here with us for the last 25 years, so if you look down and you have fan on your badge, you’ll be getting one for free later this year.”
Naturally, the announcement immediately sparked huge cheers from the audience as attendees celebrated the limited edition gift.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition was unveiled as part of Microsoft’s celebrations for Xbox’s 25th anniversary in 2026 and rocks the nostalgic green design that we saw with the original Xbox, with added translucency and a matching controller.
However, if you weren’t lucky enough to attend the showcase, you’ll still have a chance to get one by preordering. Currently, preorders aren’t open, but they’re expected to release soon to prepare for the November release date.
The price for the console is yet to be announced.
