Coco Gauff is currently gearing up for the grass season as she prepares to compete at the Berlin Open. Recently, fans got their first glimpse of the American practicing on the surface and they were quickly fired up by the video.

Overall, Gauff has had a lukewarm 2026 season so far. The 22-year-old kicked off her year at the Australian Open, where she made a quarterfinals exit after losing to Elina Svitolina. She then went on to register an opening round exit at the Qatar Open, a semifinals finish at the Dubai Tennis Championships, a round of 32 appearance at Indian Wells, before making her first final of the year at the Miami Open. On clay, the World No.7 failed to defend her French Open title, with her best result on the surface being a runners-up finish at the Italian Open.

Now, Coco Gauff is gearing up for the grass court season. As the two-time Grand Slam champion prepares to compete at the Berlin Tennis Open, fans got their first glimpse of her practicing on grass. Watch the video below:

Reacting to the video, one X user wrote,

Coco Gauff will begin her grass season at the Berlin Tennis Open that takes place between June 15 and 21. Joining her at the event will be the likes of World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, 2026 Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina, as well as compatriots Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova. Fans in the US can watch the action from the WTA 500 event on the Tennis Channel.

In 2025, Gauff had experienced a forgettable grass season. Fresh off of her winning campaign at the French Open, the American kicked off her time on grass courts at the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open, where she received a bye in her opening round match before going down against qualifier Xinyu Wang in her round of 16 encounter.

Coco Gauff then returned to action at Wimbledon, where she was ousted in the first round by an unseeded Dayana Yastremska. Now, as she gears up for the 2026 grass season, Gauff will be hoping to string together consistent wins on the surface.
