In a video shared online, a team of YouTubers tried to avoid paying for tickets to see The Odyssey by sneaking into the cinema in a Trojan horse.
The Odyssey, the new film by Christopher Nolan based on Homer’s epic poem, has released in theaters worldwide. As well as Odysseus’ return to Ithaca, the film depicts the Trojan War, famed for the Greeks’ use of the Trojan Horse as a means of breaching the walls of Troy.
Among those wishing to see the film were YouTube group FullSquad. The group shared a video in which they tried to infiltrate an AMC Cinema showing of the film using their own DIY Trojan Horse.
They only had one ticket between three
The video opens with the revelation that they only have one ticket. Two of them get inside the Trojan Horse, while one of them pulls them along. On the way to the cinema, they parade the horse around, sneakily showing its secret to members of the public.
When they arrive at the AMC, their ticket is scanned and they manage to make it through two different sets of employees. Believing they’ve succeeded, they make their way toward the screen celebrating.
However, when turning a corner, the Trojan Horse topples over and they are rumbled. A security guard arrives to tell them: “You guys can’t bring this in unfortunately.”
Another worker arrives at the scene of the broken Trojan Horse, firstly to ask if they have tickets, but later admitting: “I respect this.”
