Halo: Campaign Evolved is more than just an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the shooter classic. It fills the experience with a bunch of new collectibles, quality-of-life improvements, alongside its fair share of unexpected surprises. It’s a blast, and there’s one secret early on which also earns you a trophy/achievement; it’s time to take over the Pillar of Autumn.
One of the silliest easter eggs in the original Halo involves you immediately opening fire on Captain Keyes the second he hands you his unloaded pistol, which you’ll need to find some ammo for first. But the second he drops dead, the entire ship turns against you as Cortana calls in a squid of marines to take you down. Master Chief is not the hero he’s supposed to be. But we’re here to talk about the trophy, and here’s how to get it.
How To Earn The This Is My Ship Now Trophy/Achievement
The official description for this trophy reads as ‘Eliminate Captain Keyes and trap his six avenging Marines in the Autumn’s observation pen.’ Killing the captain is pretty obvious. Chief can take him down with a few melee strikes or a few bullets to the head, and you’ll need to be ready for a fight the second they drop dead.
You will be killed very quickly here if you aren’t careful, so when trying to unlock this trophy, I would recommend playing on Easy difficulty so you can boss the marines about.
As for the observation pen, it is a small area located directly beneath the cockpit and twin pilots. You will find a ladder leading down to it and will need to lure all the marines that are summoned following Keyes’ death into it.
How To Force Marines Into The Observation Pen
Unfortunately, they won’t follow you directly into the hole and will relentlessly open fire on Chief on sight. My advice is to peek around the corner and slowly try to split them up. It’s common for a couple of marines to remain outside the bridge while a few more will charge into the map room.
A skull can also be found in the observation pen, so make sure to head down there and grab it if you haven’t already.
None of the invading marines can be killed, so my advice is to individually lure them towards the observation pen and then use a combination of melee attacks and pushing their models towards the desired location with your own movements. They tend to slide, which winds up being your secret weapon here.
There are ledges on either side of the pen, and I found the most success by consistently hitting them with melee attacks until a more powerful strike sent them flying into the pit.
It is also possible to stand on the top of this ledge and hit them from above, making it bit harder to take damage and also easier to make sure the physics system is on your side.
Once all six marines are in the hole, the trophy/achievement will pop, and you’ll remain the enemy of humanity. Keep in mind you’ll need to reload your game in order to progress at this point.
