With the PGA Tour’s return Stateside at the 3M Open came a bevy of new iron options, as two different companies began tour seeding and validation.
Srixon continued its onslaught of new gear after launching the ZXi RKT drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids all within the last month by demoing the new ZXi5, 7, and U iron lineup at TPC Twin Cities.
From early judgment, Srixon looks to have put effort into a cavity redesign on the ZXi5 and ZXi7. The cavity now extends higher into the toe, which would hint at a move in mass lower and more central. The irons also have an “IQ” upgrade, with the Pureframe and Mainframe options both looking like machine learning has been applied to update the technology.
The ZXiU potentially has the most visually noticeable changes compared to the previous model. Srixon has removed the notch in the cavity, and the sole looks to have less trailing edge relief than the older model. The last generation ZXiU was the first to use the Tour V.T. Sole, yet this new model looks to have seen a redesign.

What’s missing from the tour launch is the ZXi5+ iron, the driving iron which was in Fox’s bag at The Open. I guess we’ll have to wait and see whether this was just a one-off for golfers playing across the pond, or, after its success, it makes it to retail.
Mizuno also added the new Pro S-4 cavity back iron to the North America Tour truck after the heads debuted at The Open Championship last week. The heads look thicker than the current S-3, and the sole has some significant leading- and trailing-edge camber. The head profile still fit the smaller heel-to-toe design seen on the pro-series, but with a deeper notch in the cavity compared to the S-3s.
A Collection of Custom Camerons
The Titleist Tour truck at the 3M Open had a pretty busy Tuesday morning, taking plenty of deliveries from their courier of choice.
Inside the many boxes were a plethora of custom Scotty Cameron putters, built specially for the very best on the PGA Tour, including Rickie Fowler and Tom Kim, among others.

New Fitz Face designs
Is anyone having a better season than Matt Fitzpatrick this year?
The Englishman has won three times already in 2026, and is rolling on the greens after switching back to his beloved Bettinardi BB1 Fitz Flow blade. The putter features the Fitz Face, a semi-circular milling pattern that Bettinardi worked directly with Fitzpatrick to perfect. It’s similar to the “C” groove milling found on Fitzpatrick’s older Yes! putter.
With the success it’s seen, Bettinardi had more options and heads for players to test at the 3M Open, and there were a couple of interesting takers, one of whom has plenty of putters in his collection.
According to Bettinardi’s Tour Rep, Hideki Matsuyama favored the roll and feel of the Fitz Face and ultimately requested his own version of the BB1 Fitz Flow. Check out the full gallery here.
Larry Fitzgerald’s WITB
Larry Fitzgerald teed it up in the pro-am at the 3M Open, and if you blinked, you’d miss him. He’s one of the fastest on the football field, and his golf is the same. No waggles, no practice swings. He’s straight into the ball and just like that he’s already hit it.
It’s no surprise that he can hit the ball a country mile; even though he’s a retired football player, he’s still a unit and an athlete.
But for a big man, he has quite the touch on the greens, and rolls the dots off it with a custom L.A.B. Golf VZN.1i putter.

Ted Scott WITB
Ted Scott carries the bag for the best golfer in the world and has a pretty impressive setup himself. To no surprise, the caddie for world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has a full TaylorMade configuration, including the newly released PUDI “Bomber” 1-iron, along with the TaylorMade Stinger Squadron headcover.
Unlike previous “what’s in the bags” that GolfWRX has captured for Scott, he wasn’t using the Augusta National Golf Club member-only Titleist LinksLegend Golf Bag.
According to our Tour photographer Greg Moore, Scott said it was too heavy to take to Scotland and carry when he played, and hadn’t had a chance to pick it up after returning straight from Birkdale. You can’t blame him for lightening the load considering he carries a staff bag for a living.

Odds and Ends
Brian Harman surprised even the Odyssey reps when he was spotted using a Jailbird during Round 1 at TPC Twin Cities. Matt Kuchar had a custom Bettinardi Antidote SB2 made for him with a pretty amazing sole design created by the team. Billy Horschel was spotted using an Odyssey Ai-Dual Rossie S. He’s gamed both the Ping Sigma 2 Tyne 4 and an Anser 2 this season.
