A lot of tense moments in that final set super tiebreak but Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils were able to pull through.
“Lots of tension,” Svitolina said. “Thanks to this guy [Monfils] bringing me a few points here and there.”
Monfils, after showing off some dance moves, answered about playing doubles with his wife.
“Happy wife, happy life,” he said as the crowd laughed.
Svitolina and Monfils are the first pair into the U.S. Open mixed doubles semifinals.
