Alex Eala should take a lot of pride in a record she holds from the 2026 season.

Eala has enjoyed another breakthrough season this year, having won her first WTA title in Washington D.C., reached the second week of Wimbledon and subsequently broken into the top 20.

However, the Filipina has suffered some recent disappointments, with Eala only winning bronze at the Asian Games and losing her only match at the Singapore Open.

As Eala looks to return to form at the Wuhan Open, she should take credit from a statistic she leads in 2026.

What do you make of Alexandra Eala’s Wuhan Open draw?

Tell us what round you think she will reach! 👇

Alex Eala has the most top 10 wins of any WTA player aged 21 and under in 2026

Eala has already achieved a lot of success and is one of the most popular players in tennis right now, so it is easy to forget that she is still only 21 years old.

There are currently a number of WTA players aged 21 and under who are achieving a lot of success, including both Roland Garros champion Mirra Andreeva and Wimbledon winner Linda Noskova.

While Andreeva and Noskova have won Grand Slam titles this year, Eala has won more matches against top 10 players in 2026. In fact, Eala has won more matches against top 10 players than any other player aged 21 and under this year.

Eala has won seven of her 10 matches against top 10 players this year, which includes wins over the likes of Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek.

The closest player to Eala in this statistic is Victoria Mboko, who has won five matches against top 10 players. This is despite Mboko being out with injury since the grass court season, where she suffered a left knee injury.

Andreeva is the highest-ranked of all of these players, but she has only won one of her six matches against top 10 players in 2026.

Under-21s with the most top 10 wins in 2026 Age Top 10 wins in 2026
Alex Eala 21 7
Victoria Mboko 20 5
Linda Noskova 21 4
Iva Jovic 18 2
Nikola Bartunkova 20 2
Mirra Andreeva 19 1
Sara Bejlek 20 1

Average ranking of players who have beaten Alex Eala this year

While Eala has an impressive record against top 10 players this year, she has also suffered some disappointing losses. This includes Eala losing to Tatiana Prozorova, who was the world number 180 when they played recently in Singapore.

Despite leading her in the statistic of most top 10 wins for WTA players aged 21 and under, Eala has lost the most matches to Iva Jovic in 2026, having been beaten all three times they have played in 2026.

When taking into account the 23 losses Eala has suffered in 2026, the average ranking of opponents that have beaten her this year is 37.5.
