Alexandra Eala is officially confirmed in the entry list for the US Open, which returns this time next month.

Fresh from her US Open debut last year, Eala is number 29 in the provisional list, which is also her current WTA rank.

The 21-year-old is one place behind her career-high rank, which she achieved after reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon earlier this month.

Eala next plays at the Washington Open, one of her warm-up tournaments for the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the 2026 season.

It will represent just her second appearance at the hard-court Grand Slam, at which she made history in 2025.

Alexandra Eala’s US Open record

Eala immediately hit the ground running on her debut in New York last year, having been drawn against Clara Tauson in round one.

The 14th seed was the favourite to come out on top, but the Filipina superstar produced a shock 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11).

It delighted her passionate fans at the tournament, at which she became the first player from the Philippines to win a Grand Slam match in the Open Era.

She hugely impressively fought back from 5-1 down in the final set, but couldn’t repeat those heroics in the second round.

After claiming her fourth top 20 win in 2025, Eala fell to Cristina Bucsa at Flushing Meadows, losing their encounter 6-4, 6-3.

  • 1st round: Win vs Clara Tauson (14) 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11)
  • 2nd round: Loss vs Cristina Bucsa 6-4, 6-3

Alexandra Eala is a Junior US Open champion

Eala will be able to draw upon her experiences from last year this time around, along with her impressive run at Wimbledon.

But she also has other significant history at the US Open to fall back on, having clinched the Junior title in 2022.

Who is your favorite player – Alexandra Eala or Coco Gauff?

Let us know why in the comments!

Not dropping a set during the entire tournament, Eala secured the trophy with a 6-2, 6-4 final win over Lucie Havlickova.

She made history back then too, becoming the first player from the Philippines to win a Grand Slam singles title.

Eala loves representing the Philippines, which she will do on her own again at the US Open as the only player from the nation in the women’s and men’s entry lists.
