In a post on Instagram, Sabalenka said: “Leaving Toronto with a lot of love and lessons to learn. Onto the next.”

Sabalenka’s next appearance on the tour will come at the Cincinnati Open; the second WTA 1000 event of the North American hard-court swing.

Last year, Sabalenka reached the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open before falling to Elena Rybakina.

The Kazakh will have to defend 175 more points than Sabalenka in Cincinnati, having made the semifinals there last year.

But at the US Open, reigning champion Sabalenka is defending 1760 more points than Rybakina, who was knocked out in the fourth round in 2025.
