Aryna Sabalenka has been on a poor run of form for some time on the WTA Tour.
Since winning the Miami Open in March, the world number one has reached just one semifinal, which she managed in Berlin.
Sabalenka has made just one quarterfinal at WTA 1000 level in that time and has struggled at Grand Slams recently.

Greg Rusedski discusses Aryna Sabalenka’s chances at the US Open
Speaking about Sabalenka in an episode of his podcast, ‘Off Court with Greg‘, former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski said: “She is at her best in New York. It’s almost like she restarts.
“The expectation last year was that she was going to win the French Open. This year she didn’t really look her best.
“She started the year making the finals in Australia and lost to Rybakina and Wimbledon was disappointing, going out early in the draw.
“This is her time and where she feels the most comfortable. I think we will find out in the lead up tournaments where her game is going to be.
Predict now – who are the two women who make the US Open final?
Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek are all out of form…
“She is going to need some form because no matter how great a player you are there is something called confidence. If you could bottle confidence as a coach and could give your player immediate confidence, you would have a job for life.
“That is the thing. No matter how great you are in this game, it still comes down to that belief and confidence.
“Maybe she just walks on the hard courts, gets to America and feels great, but I think she needs to have a good performance and win a title leading into the US Open this year.
“She is such a great athlete and a great player. I think she is going to turn things around, but I feel to win the US Open this year, she has to win a title leading up to it.”

Aryna Sabalenka’s three title triumphs of 2026
While Sabalenka has not been as dominant as fans have come to expect in recent times, she has still clinched three titles this season.
The first came at the Brisbane International, where she did not drop a set throughout the entire tournament.
Sabalenka then became the fifth female player to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’ by winning both Indian Wells and Miami.
She beat Australian Open conqueror Elena Rybakina in the Indian Wells final and overcame Coco Gauff in the Miami title bout.
