Alex Pereira’s former light heavyweight foe believes his post-fight attacks against referee Herb Dean are unwarranted. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira’s bid to become the promotion’s first three-division titleholder fell short at the hands of Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 last month. Meanwhile, Pereira has gone on a social media rampage in the weeks following the Gane fight, claiming Gane landed several illegal blows in the finishing sequence of their bout. He’s repeatedly slandered referee…

Here is the R&A’s chief referee Grant Weir explaining the technicality of the rule that Bryson DeChambeau violated that resulted in the two-shot penalty.“An improvement means ‘to alter one or more of the conditions affecting the stroke, so that the player gains a potential advantage for the stroke.’“I would stress that this applies, even when the action is accidental as it was in Bryson’s case.“The area of intended swing includes the entire area that might reasonably affect any part of the back swing, the downswing or the completion of the swing for the intended stroke, and importantly what the prohibited…

I participate in a golf course architecture forum away from GolfWRX, and the hot topic this week is how disinterested folks in Europe and the United Kingdom are with proper preservation and restoration. In other words, they embrace renovation in a way that USA golf course architecture fans do not. Ironic, huh? This matters this week, because the Royal Birkdale course on display in 2026, differs from the one last seen in 2017. That iteration, nine years in the mirror, was disimilar to the 2008 and 1998 and 1991 and … well, you get the idea. Birkdale is second to…
