BETBOOM moved within one win of the PGL Masters Bucharest playoffs after beating Nemiga 2-0 with wins on Anubis (13-3) and Mirage (13-11), following up their opening victory over Spirit.
Nemiga, who had swept Legacy in their opener, drop to the 1-1 pool. They remain in contention for a playoff berth, which would secure their place at the Singapore Major.
The series began with BETBOOM taking the first six rounds on Anubis. Nemiga briefly found their footing with three consecutive rounds, but that was all they could manage. BETBOOM restored control to lead 9-3 at the break and swept the second half, with Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov topping the scoreboard with a 1.87 rating.
Mirage proved considerably tougher. Nemiga recovered from a 0-2 start to lead 7-5 at halftime, while Nikita “robo” Dushin contributed a 1v2 clutch helping them along the way, before extending their advantage to 9-5 after the switch.
BETBOOM responded with three straight rounds to bring themselves back into contention. The teams traded blows until Nemiga led 11-10, but Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko’s 28-kill showing helped his team take the final three rounds to complete the sweep.
