The latest round of WWE cuts is underway, and several performers have reported becoming unfortunate victims of the exercise. One of the most talented names among those shown the door is Adriana Rizzo, who only recently returned from a ligament injury that kept her out of action for several months.
Rizzo joined the global juggernaut in 2022 and made her in-ring debut in October of that year. However, an injury immediately took her out of action, and she was forced to spend time away for a whole year before returning in October 2023.
Thanks for the submission!
The 27-year-old star was soon added to the newly formed D’Angelo family, led by Tony D’Angelo. While it’s true that Rizzo never really broke out as a singles star, she was an entertaining performer, especially alongside her stablemates.
Once the group was dissolved during her absence since August last year due to a torn meniscus, it was unclear what WWE NXT had in store for her. She would finally make her return in July as an interviewer for Evolve, while also competing in a handful of matches on the Live circuit to get her groove back.
Just weeks following this, though, news broke out that Adriana Rizzo is gone from WWE. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Rizzo was one of several NXT and Evolve stars who were cut from the global juggernaut. Rizzo didn’t have prior experience in wrestling before joining WWE. As such, it remains to be seen if she sticks to wrestling following her exit or explores other career options.
TNA or AEW could be potential landing spots for Rizzo if she intends to continue in this industry. Apart from that, the indie circuit is also thriving today. Several promotions serve as a great platform for performers to showcase their talents as well as make a decent living.
