Can Roberto Soldic Win His UFC Debut Against Khaos Williams?

Roberto Soldic gets a tough introduction to the UFC when he meets Khaos Williams in a welterweight fight at UFC 332 on October 3 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The betting lean is toward Williams by decision or late stoppage, but Soldic has the power and experience to make his UFC debut a winning one.

Soldic is not arriving as an untested prospect. He is 21-4 with one no contest, owns 18 knockout or TKO wins, and previously held KSW championships at welterweight and middleweight. His resume includes a third-round knockout of current UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in their 2018 rematch, plus knockout wins over Mamed Khalidov, Krystian Kaszubowski and Michal Materla.

Soldic’s best case is simple: close distance without taking clean counters, attack the body, and force Williams into exchanges near the fence. He carries real one-punch power, and Williams has never been stopped in his five professional losses. That does not make Williams untouchable, it simply means Soldic would be attempting something no previous opponent has done. It will be a hot contest and players should keep a close eye on gamblerina as the event draws near.

Roberto Soldic vs. Khaos Williams Odds

There is also a question around recent activity. Soldic fought only three times after signing with ONE Championship in 2022. His run there began with a no contest against Murad Ramazanov after an accidental groin strike, followed by a TKO loss to Zebaztian Kadestam before he knocked out Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev in February 2025. Soldic said he felt “semi-retired” during the inactive period before his UFC deal came together.

That layoff is a concern against a fighter who is used to UFC pacing, officiating, the larger media buildup and the rhythm of a three-round Octagon contest. Still, Soldic has competed under pressure before. He has fought for titles, won belts in multiple promotions and accepted difficult opponents throughout his career.

Soldic is a good pick because he brings proven finishing power and championship experience into a matchup where Williams is willing to strike. The Croatian enters his October 3 UFC debut with a 21-4 record, one no contest and 18 knockout or TKO wins, having won titles at welterweight and middleweight in KSW before moving to ONE Championship and then the UFC.

He has shown he can rebound from setbacks, most famously stopping Dricus du Plessis in their rematch after losing their first fight, and he returned from his ONE run with a first-round knockout of Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev. Williams has more time in the UFC, but Soldic has faced championship pressure and owns the cleaner record of ending fights before the scorecards. If he gets past Williams’ reach, works his way into the pocket and lands his left hook or body shots early, Soldic has every chance to turn his Octagon debut into a statement win.

The matchup looks built for an early finish, but that can make knockout props tempting at a price that does not reflect the uncertainty. Both men hit hard, both have shown they can be hurt, and both have enough experience to become more selective once the first round passes.

Williams has openly acknowledged Soldic’s danger and the former KSW champion’s 18 stoppage wins, while Soldic has recognized that Williams is a knockout threat with far more UFC experience.
