The San Marcos girls beach volleyball team and its 16-player senior class shined all season, going undefeated in Channel League play en route to its third straight league title.

As a result, the Royals led the local contingency with 12 total All-Channel League honorees, while the Santa Barbara High Dons and Dos Pueblos Chargers earned eight selections apiece.

The San Marcos No. 1 pairing of seniors Cora Loomer and Evyn Miller was the team to beat all season, winning every league matchup and the league individual tournament to be crowned the Channel League MVP Pair.

Loomer/Miller were joined by fellow all-senior pairings Paige Hoadley/Charlotte Hastings and Alina Stapf/Reese Paskin as the team’s representatives on the All-League First Team.

Meanwhile, the senior duo of Lila Westmacott and Isla McClintock had strong seasons en route to All-League Second Team selections.

The San Marcos senior success also featured Jeannie Johnson/Kelsey Rowe and Malia Hetrick/Rio Chesluk, who garnered All-League Honorable Mention nods.

Santa Barbara High

The Dons’ top duo of junior Lola Heckman and sophomore Kira Elliot set the tone throughout the season at the No. 1 court, earning a spot on the All-League First Team.

The junior pairing of Blake Saunders and Paylin Marcillac were key contributors for Santa Barbara High as well, putting together an All-League Second Team campaign.

Junior Stella Peus/sophomore Grace Costner and sophomores Tali Yoshimi/Phoebe Peterson rounded out the team’s honorees as All-League Honorable Mentions.

Dos Pueblos

Charger sophomores Charlize Welch and Allie Ben-Yaacov led a youthful Dos Pueblos team and were rewarded with All-League First Team selections.

Fellow sophomore duo Ruby Dunlop and Gia Haas also gave Charger fans plenty to look forward to in the coming years with an All-League Second Team season.

The freshman pairing of Athena Bardakos/Moana Martinez and the sophomore team of Kyra Sample/Faith Harrison showcased the youth movement as well and were named All-League Honorable Mentions.
