Disclaimer: Unlike Aaaron, I am not a professional weatherman. I am not even a hobbyist.
I have, however, been in Mexico City for four weeks and have experienced my fair share of thunderstorms in that time. Generally, there is a massive downpour — biblical, usually — which lasts for 30 minutes to an hour. Then everything clears up and you would never know it had happened.
What I am saying is that it might be a good thing if we are getting the storm out of the way now. Let’s see.
All journalists and photographers have been advised to stay inside the media centre because of the conditions. There are going to be a lot of wet fans out there.
Parts of the Azteca — mainly the areas behind the goals — are also very exposed, so plenty of people will be hoping this all blows over before kick-off.
