UFC BJJ 11 will be headlined by the closest thing to a PRIDE-style freakshow match: two athletes from different sports, a size disparity, and special rules. UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell will be crossing over to Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) to face the smaller, but significantly more technical submission artist in UFC BJJ bantamweight champion Mikey Musumeci. Apart from giving up size, the face of UFC BJJ will also have self-imposed handicaps, as Musumeci has promised not to pull guard, butt scoot, or even go for his trademark leg attacks.
The last time Mitchell crossed over to BJJ, he was heel hooked in seconds by a teenager, and unless he just stalls (or gets disqualified) against the decorated jiu-jitsu star, this will probably be a complete mismatch too. Musumeci has dominated world champion grapplers from top position, so the absence of leg locks or guard pulls wouldn’t be an issue, as he can simply accept a takedown, then sweep or submit the wrestler from there. Much like those JMMA freakshows though, this can bring in new eyeballs to the more legitimate matches on the card — like the excellent light heavyweight title bout between UFC BJJ champ Mason Fowler and CJI champ Nick Rodriguez.
UFC BJJ 11 happens on THURSDAY (September 24, 2026) inside the UFC’s Meta Apex venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
