Grand Theft Auto fans looking to rush through GTA 6’s main story are in for a shock, as the game will put up some roadblocks.
With Grand Theft Auto 6’s November 19 release date drawing nearer and nearer, GTA fans are already prepping for what they’ll do first in Vice City. Many want to explore the state of Leonida first, just to see what Rockstar Games has spent 13 years building.
Others, however, are more excited to experience the story and are desperate to speedrun it. However, if you fall into that camp, you are going to have to be patient.
As Rockstar confirmed back in August, players will have to gather up money between missions before unlocking certain jobs. In other cases, though, there will be a natural waiting period.
GTA 6 story will have “natural gating” between missions
According to Edge Magazine’s preview of the highly-anticipated game, there will be some “natural gating” to “introduce pauses” between different missions.
That is a little different to previous games where you would complete a mission and then immediately see a new mission marker on the map.
It does, however, lend itself a bit to Red Dead Redemption 2, where you would have to sleep between some missions, just so you were in the right time of day to take it on. Players could bypass this by just rushing to a campsite and sleeping a few times, but you could easily miss other parts of the game too.
There will be tonnes of different ways to earn cash.
As noted before, you will be able to do a litany of different things inside GTA 6 to raise the necessary cash. You’ll be able to steal from stores, steal cars, and even hunt rare animals.
If you do encounter the police along the way, officers will be able to call upon K9 Units to chase you down. They will also use spike strips to stop your cars, and that appears to be more powerful than previous games.
Your criminal profile will also change how NPCs react to you around Vice City too.
Additionally, Edge also noted that players will be free to explore the map and parts won’t necessarily be locked off.
However, Rockstar has admitted that the size of the map is too big for them to show you everything through the story. You will have to explore parts of it by yourself.
