Hello Kitty and Spam are joining forces for a new collaboration that brings together two iconic brands in a limited-edition collectible release.
The Spam brand has partnered with Sanrio, the company behind Hello Kitty, to launch a special-edition can featuring the character enjoying Spam Musubi. The collectible can is now available nationwide while supplies last.
According to the companies, the collaboration celebrates the long-running popularity of both brands and their dedicated fan communities.
“This collaboration brings together two brands with incredibly passionate fan communities and a shared ability to spark joy across generations,” said Stephanie Swift, brand manager of the Spam brand.
“Pairing Hello Kitty with the iconic Spam brand can in such a playful and collectible way felt like a fun opportunity to create something fans would genuinely be excited to find on shelves.”
Hello Kitty and Spam launch ‘Tour de Sizzle’ campaign
Alongside the collectible can, the brands have launched a new digital campaign called “Tour de Sizzle.”
The campaign centers around TourdeSizzle.com, an interactive microsite that follows Hello Kitty and Spammy on a culinary journey inspired by dishes and food cultures from around the world.
Fans can explore destinations inspired by Hawaiian Musubi, Korean Bibimbap, Japanese Ramen, and Canadian Poutine while discovering hidden easter eggs, collecting digital “Sizzle Passport” stamps, and unlocking exclusive content.
The website also hosts a sweepstakes running through June 23, giving participants the chance to win prizes including a “Tour de Sizzle” bundle and free limited-edition products.
Those who miss out on sweepstakes prizes can still purchase the Hello Kitty x Spam collectible can at participating grocery stores while supplies last.
The collaboration is the latest example of food brands teaming up with major pop culture icons for limited-edition releases.
Earlier this year, Hershey’s launched a Pokemon-themed collection of Kisses chocolates featuring collectible wrappers, while Papa John’s unveiled a Toy Story 5-inspired promotion tied to the upcoming Disney Pixar film.
